The City of Manteca wants residents to know they can get involved with Coastal Cleanup and can participate with the California Coastal Commission in working to make California Coastal Cleanup Day even "greener." If you are interested in reducing the environmental footprint of Coastal Cleanup Day, we need your help! Please join our efforts this year by turning out to one of the 16 cleanup sites throughout San Joaquin County. Of the 16 sites, 11 sites will be open to the general public to participate in cleanup activities. Five sites are “controlled access” which means they are closed to the general public due to liability and/or security reasons. Volunteer alongside your families, friends, coworkers, scout troops, school groups, and service clubs. Plan to spend a couple of hours outside connecting with your community to celebrate California!
The event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, organized by the Ocean Conservancy. California Coastal Cleanup Day is the largest volunteer event in the US and International Coastal Cleanup Day is the largest volunteer event on the planet! Be a proud Mantecan and be a part of this green event. Click the following link for a map of the cleanup site: https://bit.ly/2NiTt0E.
